Randy Russell Sargent, 71, of Rigby, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

On November 18, 1950, Randy was born in Idaho Falls to Lyle Howard Sargent and Lola Wanda Bates. He grew up in Swan Valley and attended Bonneville High School, graduating in 1969. He received his certification to become a Journeyman Electrician from the College of Eastern Idaho.

He lived in Lava Hot Springs and helped open the ambulance service, he also lived in Idaho Falls and Rigby, but his heart was always in Swan Valley. Randy worked at First Call Jewel for over 20 years. He held other jobs in health care and the Forest Service.

Randy enjoyed being outdoors camping and fishing and felt closest to God in nature. He liked tinkering on his tractors and trucks. He especially loved spending time with his family. He was the type of person who would go out of his way to help someone in need and believed in the value of hard work.

Randy is survived by his son, Devin (Kaylynn) of Idaho Falls, his sister Susan Sargent of Swan Valley, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Lola Sargent and his brother David Sargent.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Monday, April 25, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, ldaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
