Ray L. Barker, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at MorningStar Senior Living Center. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Ray was born on June 27, 1930, in Victor, Idaho to Leland Josiah and LaVaughn Beddes Barker. He grew up in Victor and attended Teton High School. He served in the National Guard.
On February 21, 1970, he married Dorothy Ann Sparr in Jackson, Wyoming. Dorothy passed away on November 27, 2017.
He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Lander and Jackson, Wyoming. Ray started his own business, Mr. B Snow Plowing, in Jackson. After his retirement, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he started driving school bus.
Ray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many different positions.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. His most enjoyable time was spent with his family, they enjoyed many camping trips at Jackson Lake.
He is survived by his daughters: KayLea (Ron) Weber of Jackson, WY and Joyce Barker of Thayne, WY; his brothers: Don (Susan) Barker of Green River, WY and Clifford (Nancy) Barker of St. Anthony, ID; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; his son, David L. Barker; his daughter, Valetta West; and his sister Neta Hansen.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Taylor Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
