He was born May 23, 1934, in New York, New York, to Robert and Alice Teague McLaughlin. He grew up and attended schools in New York City.
He entered the United States Air Force in March of 1954 and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He married Mary Fetters on October 22, 1983, in Virginia City, Nevada.
He lived in New York City, Reno, Nevada, and in Rigby, Idaho for two years.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf and watching westerns; he loved singing Home on the Range as loud as he could off key.
He was a wonderful loving man, who loved his family and spoiled his kids rotten.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McLaughlin of Rigby, Idaho; 4 daughters, Julie (Pete) Mitchell of Shamong, New Jersey, Patty (Craig) Billman of Rigby, Idaho, Kathleen Goldner of Rigby, Idaho, and Dawn Dixon of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and his son, Peter Edmundson of Hanover, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, with Craig Billman officiating. Military rites will be performed by Bonneville County Veterans Team. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
