Obituary

Rayola Miller, 85, of Rigby and Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Rayola was born November 22, 1925, in Garfield, Idaho, to James Andrus and Florence Crystal Andrus. She graduated from Ucon High School in 1943. She married Ralph O. Miller in Garfield, Idaho, on November 21, 1942. He passed away in 1998. During World War II, they lived at Army Air Corps bases in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jacksonville, Florida, and Pueblo, Colorado. After the war, they made their home in Jefferson County, Idaho. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and later Falls Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher and a leader of Senior Adult Ministry. She worked for Roger Brothers Potato Processing plant and as a rural mail carrier in Jefferson County. Rayola studied oil painting and was a wonderful seamstress. She is survived by the following: Daughters: Martha (David) Menne of Flagstaff, AZ; Pat (Larry) Shores of Idaho Falls, ID; Linda (Roger) Brown of Gambrils, Maryland; Marilynn (Michael) Kimsey of Smithville, Missouri; and Carol Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Son: Michael (Kathy) Miller of Lakewood, Colorado; Sister, Iva Pennington of Nampa, Idaho; Brother, Roy Andrus of Rigby, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James "Bud" Andrus, and a sister, Vonda Tinker. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2011, at Falls Baptist Church, 6070 S. 15th East, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial donations be made in Rayola's name to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran St., Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
