He was born on December 8, 1931, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Paul G. and Angeline McClellan Moore. His family moved throughout his childhood to wherever his dad's job took them.
He graduated from high school in El Paso, Texas. He attended the University of Colorado.
He served in the United States Army.
On February 5, 1951, he married Eleanor Mae Johnson in Denver, Colorado. They were later divorced. He married Betty Chao Moore on March 9, 1972.
He was employed as an engineer at various companies, specializing in heat transfer and computer programming.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He coached basketball for his ward.
He loved books, sports, geneology, traveling, and he especially loved to talk to people.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Moore of Winters, California; 3 sons, Michael (Duyen) Moore of Denver, Colorado, Scott (Kathy) Moore of Kyle, Texas, and Dave Moore of Littleton, Colorado; 5 daughters, Karel (Michael) Webb of Columbia Falls, Montana, Addie (Greg) Bybee of Rexburg, Idaho, Kirsten Kraft of Palmdale, California, Patty Moore of Snowflake, Arizona, Pam Delaney of Canyon Country, California; 2 step-daughters, Eva Boyko of Winters, California, and Ester Pollitt of Colorado; 35 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008, Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
