IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Boyd
Endecott
March 30, 1939 – January 6, 2021
Richard "Boyd" Endecott, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 30, 1939, at Squirrel, Idaho, to Richard and Hilda Warsany Endecott. Boyd was the oldest of six children. His sisters: Sharon (Steve) Davis, and Wilma (Bill) Miller; and brothers: Gerry (Rusty) Endecott, Robert (Janet) Endecott, and Jack (Pauline) Endecott. He grew up in Squirrel/Ashton, Idaho. He graduated from High School in 1957, in Ashton.
He was in the Army National Guard and activated during the Berlin crisis. He was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington.
He met his sweetheart and eternal companion Eula Thompson and was married on August 24, 1961, and then sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 21, 1970. They lived in Washington and then moved to Idaho Falls where there they still reside.
Boyd loved his family, and they were his pride and joy. He had 4 daughters: Robin (Greg) Black, Julie (Vernon) Cook, Stacie (Andy) Weller, and Sandi (Eric) Brown. He was always asked how he survived all those women. He said he would have sons-in-law. Those sons-in-law were definitely his boys. As grandchildren were added you could find him at all their events. They were more precious to him than anything else in the world.
He loved the outdoors and all of its beauty. He loved to fish and hunt. He taught numerous family members to hunt and fish. Some of his best memories are spending time in the outdoors on his horses, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. He spent many hours at his cabin in Island Park.
He worked for Skidmore Construction for 14 years and then opened his own construction business. He later added his son-in-law and they worked side by side for years. They made so many wonderful friends along the way. You can take the boy off the farm but not out of his heart. He also had a dairy herd and raised horses and cows for years.
He had many church callings, but his favorite was Stake Dance Director.
He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years Eula Thompson Endecott; his four daughters and their spouses, his grandchildren: Amanda (Trevor) Bartlett, Richard (Alaina) Black, Sarah (Jordan) Bjornberg, Heath (Jewelly) Cook, Clayson Cook, Kim (Jake) Johnston, Nate (Jess) Weller, Jacob Boyd Weller, Colton Brown, and Garrett Brown. His great-grandchildren: Tanner, Isaac, Eli Bartlett, Hasley, and Jaxon Bjornberg, and Carter Johnston. His sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Lynn) Skidmore, Patsy (Dennis) Reynolds, Teresa (Les) Wixom, and Kelly (Dave) Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Hilda Warsany Endecott; brother, Robert "Bob" Endecott; sister, Sharon Davis; and brothers-in-law: Ermal, Chuck and Blaine Thompson; and multiple nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jan Garland and the many medical professionals that gave such great care to Boyd throughout the years and became friends with the family.
