It is with great sadness that we break the news that Richard "Joe" Ling returned to paradise on May 26, 2023.

Joe was born on April 24, 1961, to Carol Kusik and Joseph Ling in Salmon, Idaho. Growing up Joe was on his own. He was determined to make a life for himself. He found his wife Darla back in 1984. Together they had three children: Malia, Kasey, and Jenn. Joe enjoyed being with family, everything about cars, and being in the sunshine.

Joe was known for the love and care that he showed for others; he was always there when someone needed help.

Joe worked for VSM Technologies since he was 18 years old. Bob and the crew were not just someone he worked with, they became family and would go above and beyond for them. Joe always had a smile on his face and was always cracking jokes about everything. He always saw the brighter side when things were not so bright. He would tell you "Well life is a lesson, get your shit done and remember I Love You".

His life was his family. He loved showing up to birthday parties and get-togethers and laughing with everyone.

Joe will be remembered for the loving husband, father, papa, uncle, and friend that he was.
He leaves behind his loving wife Darla, his daughter Malia, his son Kasey, his daughter Jenn (Seth), his sister Karen (Jerry), his other sister Chris (Terry), and his other sister Kathy (Jeff). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and a lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
Joe is preceded in death by both his parents Joseph and Carol, his 3 sisters Janet, Fran (Allen), Bonnie (Mitch), and his brother Bob.

Please join us in celebrating his life with the family on June 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Mel Erickson Sunnyside Park, 1905 E. Sunnyside Rd Idaho Falls. Come ready to share stories and your favorite memories that you have with Joe.

It will be a potluck so bring your favorite dish to go with hamburgers.

Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
