Obituary

Richard "Dick" Carl Wiemer, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at his home. Dick was born August 14, 1934, the youngest child born to William B. Wiemer and Lilly May Foster Wiemer in York, Nebraska. He grew up in Waco, York County, Nebraska. On February 15, 1952, he married Eleanor May Raymond in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls. Dick worked as a tire repairman at Bairs Tire Shop in Idaho Falls and as a soft water installer in Great Falls, Montana. He was a partner in Wiemer and Wilcox Heating which later Dick purchased and became the owner of Wiemer Heating from 1956 until 1999 when he retired. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. For over 10 years, Dick was a board member of Idaho Falls Heating and Cooling Board. He enjoyed hunting, remodeling his cabin at Palisades, wagon trains, family get togethers and reunions, dancing, playing pool, and watching his kids and grandchildren participate in rodeos, ball games and other activities. Dick was a great man who loved his family deeply and they felt he was the "most wonderful father and grandfather in the world." He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Wiemer of Idaho Falls; daughters: Bonnie (Bernie) Hancock of Rigby; Kay Wiemer and Cheryl Wiemer both of Idaho Falls; Anne (Larry) Schualtz of Stanton, California; KayAnn (Troy) Reed of Idaho Falls; sons: Richard "Butch" J. (Carol) Wiemer of Idaho Falls and John (Heather) Wiemer of Boise, Idaho; sisters: Pearl Heureman of Sedalia, Missouri and Pauline Riegel of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother, Roy (Gladys) Wiemer of York, Nebraska; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several extended family members. Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by an infant brother and brothers, Ralph, Herman, and Bill Wiemer; sisters: Elta Krah, Olga Callaway, Gladys Deupre, and Lilly Richards; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2071 12th St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and Friday one hour prior to the services at the church.
