Rickie L. Hansen, 69, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Monday, November 14, 2016, at his home.

He was born on November 9, 1947, to Roy M. Hansen and Maggie Nichols Neitzel, in Pocatello, Idaho. He grew up in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1965.

On May 4, 1968, he married Jeannie Diane McCrory, in Pocatello, Idaho. They lived in Blackfoot, St. Anthony and finally Idaho Falls. He worked for Journeyman Meat Cutter and in Construction. He served as a probation and parole officer in Blackfoot.  He served as a Fremont County Deputy Sherriff.

Rickie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. While camping he enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids to hunt and fish. He took great pride in his yard. He was a member of the Fremont County Search and Rescue.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Diane Hansen, of Idaho Falls, ID; his son, Denny (Sherry) Young, of Idaho Falls, ID; his daughter, Shawna Dee (Kendal) Jenkins, of Ammon, ID; his sisters: Vickie (Gary) Scott, of Idaho Falls, ID, Cheryl (Tom) Bartausky, of Blackfoot, ID, Chuckie Neitzel, of Idaho Falls, ID, Janet Neitzel, of Idaho Falls, ID; his brothers: Kenney (Lisa) Neitzel, of North Platte, NE, David Hansen, of Blackfoot, ID; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons: Jason Young and Rickie Hansen; his father, Roy Hansen his mother, Maggie Neitzel; his stepfather, Charlie Neitzel and his stepmother, Elaine Hansen.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Kool Beanz Café, 901 Pier View Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Arrangements are under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, Idaho.
