Rob Cox
Rob J. Cox, 66, of Twin Falls, formerly of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center.
Rob was born on September 22, 1951, to Robert Lee and Verona Hamp Cox in Buhl, Idaho. He was the first boy in 8 kids. In 1954, the family moved to Pocatello, where he graduated in 1970 from Pocatello High School.
Two months after graduation Rob was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was trained in Heavy Artillery and then shipped out to fight in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
In 1975, he married Cheryl Carter. To this union two children were born, Robert Dean and Cori Leigh. They were later divorced.
Rob started work driving for Yellow Cab in Pocatello. When he returned from Vietnam he started driving truck. While driving he saw a billboard about professional wrestling and decided to look into it. He started 7 nights a week until 1980, when he made it big time and began in World Wide Wrestling. He was able to travel to Japan, Canada and all over the United States wrestling. He retired in 1988. After wrestling he returned to trucking. He worked for Doug Andrus until 1995. In 1996, he began working for Wada Farms until his retirement in 2014. He drove 18-wheelers for Wada Farms hauling potatoes from coast to coast, over a million miles. His handle was 'Tater-Toter'. He loved working with his Brother Truckers!
On August 8, 1988, he married Rhonda Watts in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Rob will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Cox; his stepsons: Phillip (Joyce) Watts, Dustin (Sherrie) Watts, and Spencer (Misty) Watts; his son, Robert Cox; his daughter, Cori Cox; 14 grandchildren: Adrienne, Nikole, Meganne, Whitney, Lindsy, Clayton, Samantha, Megan, Ariel, Krystal, Braydon, Myriah and Nikki; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verona Cox; his mother-in-law, Stella Webb; his father-in-law, Edward Webb; his sister, Kay and her husband, Ron Carter.
In lieu of flowers a donation for funeral services may be made at any Idaho Central Credit Union, under the name of Rhonda Watts.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans and Idaho Honor Guard. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
