Robert Charles "Bob" Christensen, 85, of Idaho Falls, died July 26, 2005, at his home.

He was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Idaho Falls, to Marion Christensen and Elenor Miller Christensen. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He worked as a meat cutter until joining the U.S. Army Air Force where he served during World War II.

On Jan. 19, 1946, he married Golda Charlotte Rapp. Following the war, he returned to Idaho Falls where he continued his work as a meat cutter for Bennett Meat Market, Saving Center, Romrell's Market, Aiman's Market, and Farmer's Market until 1975. They moved to Roberts and opened their own store, Chris's Corner Grocery Store. He worked in Roberts at the school as a maintenance man until he retired. After his wife's passing on March 5, 1999, he moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to his family.

He was of the Christian faith and he served as a City Councilman in Roberts.

He enjoyed building model boats, radio controlled airplanes, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by the following: son, Richard (Delores) Christensen of Boise; son, Terry C. (Marsha) Christensen of Idaho Falls; daughters, Debbie Christensen, Shawna Christensen and Candi (Craig) LePage all of Idaho Falls 10 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren sisters, Philis Eggelston and Margret Guidinger both of Nampa sister-in-laws: Naida of Nampa and Charlene Hendrickson of Idaho Falls

He was preceded in death by his wife, and 3 brothers, Wilbur, Roland, and Don Christensen.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. July 30, 2005, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
