Obituary

Robert John Myler, 58, of Idaho Falls died Sunday, February 18, 2007. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Orrin M. And Ora Faye Terry Myler. He grew up in Idaho Falls and Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Bonneville High School in l966. He served in the U.S. Army during 1968-70. For the next four years he attended sheet metal apprenticeship school in Pocatello, Idaho. From 1974-1989, he was a journeyman sheet metal worker for Bingham Mechanical in Idaho Falls and also taught sheet metal apprenticeship classes in Idaho Falls and Pocatello for the local union. He worked for Electric Boat from 1988-89 and then was transferred to upstate New York where he worked for 8 more years. He and his family then returned to Idaho Falls where he has lived till the present time.

He married Margo Bills Feb. 24, 1971 in Ucon, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in November of l989 in the Washington D.C. Temple. He and his wife raised four sons in New York and the Idaho Falls area.

He was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he had served as a teacher, Elder's Quorum president, twice as a member of the stake High Council (in New York and in Idaho Falls). He loved to hunt, fish, hike, and camp with his sons. He will be remembered as an honorable and dedicated husband and father.

Survivors include his wife Margo Bills Myler of Idaho Falls, ID; 4 sons, Tory Bills (Julie) Myler, of Salem, NY, James Brandon Myler, of Idaho Falls, ID, Ernie Robert Myler, of Pocatello, ID, and Woody John Myler, of Idaho Falls, ID; his mother Ora Faye Williams, of Idaho; and his father, Orrin Monroe Myler, of Wapello, ID; 3 sisters, Margret Hess, of Ogden, UT, Marilyn (Victor) Hasfurther, of St. George, UT, and Denise Myler, of Idaho Falls, ID; 2 brothers, Don Roe Myler, of Washington, and Lyle Douglas (Alesa) Myler, of Wyoming; and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the Shadow Mountain LDS Church, 3721 Shadow Mountain Trail in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. Military rites will be presented by the Bonneville County Veteran's Team.
