Obituary

Robert (Bob) Theodore Offermann Jr., 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away on May 8, 2022, in the presence of his loved ones at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living.

Born on December 7, 1955, in Lisbon, North Dakota, Bob was the eldest son of Robert Theodore Offermann, Sr. and Darlene Ruth Nelson Offermann.  He grew up on the family farm in eastern North Dakota until he graduated from Sheldon High School. Bob earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from North Dakota State University in 1978.

On July 15, 1978, Bob married Joette Marie Haugen in Fessenden, North Dakota.  After school, he started working for Osco Food and Drug and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. They then moved to Miles City, Montana where his son, Dustin, was born, then they moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where his son, Barrett, was born. Finally settling in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 1991, he started working for 3-D Fire Protection until he retired in 2016.

Bob was born and raised Catholic and served as an altar boy in his youth. He was a Boy Scout Master and the proud father of 2 Eagle Scouts.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  As an amateur taxidermist, Bob completed at least one project a year since high school.  He was also an avid stamp and coin collector.  Bob's greatest love was all the time he spent with his family.

Bob was a humble, modest, and hardworking man who was loyal to and proud of his family and friends.  He was well respected by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

He is survived by his sons: Dustin (Lien-Shin) Offermann of Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Barrett Offermann of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sisters: Debbie (Lloyd) Waldahl of Sheldon, North Dakota, and Diane (Jeff) Huss of Staunton, Virginia; his brother, Brad (Karla) Offermann of Fargo, North Dakota; granddaughters: Katia Offermann and Natasha Offermann; his companion, Jackie Burgess of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was preceded by his parents: Robert and Darlene Offermann.
