Obituary

Robert Lee Robinson, 71, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born Dec. 25, 1939, the son of James Gordon and Edras Myrle Godfrey Robinson, at the Spencer Hospital on South Boulevard, the third of four children. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Hawthorne Elementary School and O.E. Bell Junior High. He attended Rigby High School when the family moved there for a short time, and then returned to Idaho Falls. He later graduated from high school. In 1960 he joined the U.S. Army and was sent to West Germany and Italy where he served for four years. In the mid 1970's, he was recruited into the Idaho Army National Guard. He continued with the Guard, serving many assignments from school to summer camps and from emergency flood duty to forest fire duty. He retired from the Guard after 30 years. Besides the Guard, he worked for Norton Fruit hauling produce. Most recently he worked as a security guard at the Idaho State Building. He married Diane Robison. They had three children. They were later divorced. He married Peggy Ann Ruud in l975. They made their home in Idaho Falls. Survivors include his children: Terry (Rod) Storer, Ammon, ID; Debbie Hamilton, Idaho Falls, ID; Dianna Edwards, Carlinville, IL.; Paul (Terri) Robinson, Idaho Falls, ID; and Kelly (Spike) Patton, Lufkin, TX; Danny (Lisa) Wilde, Soda Springs, ID; Mike Wilde, Idaho Falls, ID; Tod (Cay) Reincke, Idaho Falls, ID; Shane (Lana) Ruud, Idaho Falls, ID; Tenia (Chris) Gunder, Fairfield, ID; sister, Maggie Croft of Idaho Falls, ID; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Stacie Anderson, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friend from 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the mortuary, and an hour prior to the services. Internment will be at Rose Hill. Military rites will be presented by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
