Robert Gordon Stedtfeld, 91, of Ammon passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at home. He was under the care of Alliance Home Health and Hospice.

Robert was born on October 21, 1926 to Gordon and Annabelle Stedtfeld, in Pocatello, Idaho. He grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1943. He went on to study the trade of Sheet Metal at Idaho State University.

He joined the United States Navy on November 8, 1944. He was honorably discharged in May 1946.

On March 2, 1945 he married Gloria Ellis in Pocatello, Idaho. To this union two sons were born: Jon and Steve. Gloria passed away on December 6, 2016. They lived in many places in Idaho including: Pocatello, Moore, Arco and Idaho Falls.

Robert worked in Sheet Metal for many Eastern Idaho companies such as, INL, Bingham and Westinghouse.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing, hunting, mining and riding ATV's with his family and friends.

Jon and Steve lost their life long friend and companion. One who set a stellar example of family dedication.

He is survived by his sons: Jon (Judy) Stedtfeld of Arco, Idaho and Steve (Nancy) Stedtfeld of Boise, Idaho; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Stedtfeld; his parents: Gordon and Annabelle Stedtfeld; brothers: Fred Stedtfeld and Jack Stedtfeld; and his sister, Jean Stedfeld.

At his request no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
