Robert "Bob" Talamantez, 75, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died January 9, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1936, in Bracketville, Texas, to Octaviano and Mary Galvan Talamantez. When he was young, the family moved to Shelley, Idaho, where he grew up and attended Shelley High School. He also attended classes at Eastern Idaho Technical College. He met Eloyce Carol Russell while at grade school in Shelley. They later got married on October 9, 1957, in Blackfoot, Idaho. He worked in many different produce warehouses and at Idaho Falls Brick and Tile. After moving to Idaho Falls, he started his own business installing floor coverings. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, bowling and playing checkers and pool. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and studying astronomy. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was always offering to help others and was caring, thoughtful, giving and kind-hearted. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include the following: Wife, Eloyce Talamantez of Idaho Falls Son, Roy Talamantez of Idaho Falls Son, Tony Talamantez of Idaho Falls Daughter, Connie Talamantez (Shirley) of Rigby Brother, Richard Talamantez of Layton, Utah Brother, Rowland Talamantez of Idaho Falls Brother, Larry Talamantez of Idaho Falls Sister, Yvonne Pierce of Layton, Utah Sister, Soelia Lewis of Kaysville, Utah Sister, Josie Craig of Idaho Falls 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy, brother, Homer, and sister Gloria. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Doctors and staff of the 5th floor at EIRMC.
