On June 20th, 2013, a lifetime marine, Robert Byron "Bob" Taylor, 77, of Idaho Falls lost his battle to cancer. He was born to George Devine Taylor and Cecile Faye Taylor on April 10, 1936. Bob grew up in Glenns Ferry with his grandparents. Bob married Mary Ann Smith in which 5 beautiful children were born: Edward Taylor, Robin (Hanan) Tate, Richard (Kim) Taylor, RaNae Barrus, and Roxanne Shaw. Bob and Mary Ann later divorced. On December 28, 1970, Bob married the love of his life, LaDonna Davis, who also brought 2 beautiful children to the family: Sandy Gayle Foster and Nelson Allen Jr. whom he also grew to love as his own. Bob was blessed with 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandy; and 2 grandchildren. Bob was very proud to be a marine! He spent 16 years in the military with 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and after returning home received a Purple Heart. He was always active in military affairs and provided service to those who needed him He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. There will be military services at the Idaho State Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Freeman Park at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
