Robert Jared Winters was born in Idaho Falls on April 3, 1989 to Robert and April Winters. He passed away on August 6, 2015 in Pocatello. His friends called him Robert, but his family always knew him as Jared. He was quiet and reserved. He loved the outdoors, riding his mountain or bullet bike, swimming, cooking, snowmobiling and taking his beloved dog, Voldemort, with him everywhere he went. He developed a love for weight lifting and always tried to beat his own personal records, pushing himself to be better. Robert had a compassionate heart and was always willing to help his family with computer questions or attend family events. He was so sweet to his grandparents and niece and nephew. Robert loved all animals. As a kid, he handpicked and named his first dog, Yedda. He would go out of his way to help dogs on the side of the road and get them to safety. He always loved wolves and had them on his walls growing up and he was able to see them up close on a trip he took not long ago. He was so happy to be in the mountains and dearly loved his dog, Voldemort and taking him to the river and dog park. He loved computers and would play games for hours with his friends. He loved Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, the Harry Potter series and Ender's Game. Robert really liked fixing things and working on his bikes or car. He always had on NPR, gaining more knowledge in science and technology. He loved to have spirited debates with his family and friends on politics, economics and science. He was brilliant. He attended Fairview Elementary, Rocky Mountain Middle School and obtained his GED before his senior year at Bonneville High School. He worked for Sleep Number Beds and Great Basin Cabinets in Idaho Falls. His niece and nephew adored him and watched him with awe. Robert is a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. He is survived by his mother April Winters (fiancé David Wyatt) of Idaho Falls; father Robert J. Winters of Pocatello; sisters Ashley Jo Winters-Glenn (Nathan Glenn) of Ammon and Aubree Preston of Blackfoot; niece Felicity and nephew Tucker; Grandparents Bonnie and Ted Smith, JoAnn Wood, and Peggy Winters of Idaho Falls; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Craig Wood and grandfathers Ace Wood and George Winters of Idaho Falls. Services will be held at Coltrin Mortuary in Idaho Falls. A viewing will take place Monday, August 10 from 6-8pm. A second viewing will occur at 10 am before the funeral service at 11am on Tuesday, August 11. Robert would love to have all those who knew him attend. He kept a lot of his feelings to himself, but his eyes revealed his soft heart under his tough exterior.
