Obituary

Roberta Ruth Woolf Cox, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away with her loving family beside her on Monday, July 13, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 21, 1938, to Arland and Breta Hansen Woolf in Idaho Falls. She grew up in the Iona and Idaho Falls area and graduated from Bonneville High School.

Roberta met the love of her life, Kenneth Cox, of Shelley, at Heise Hot Springs and on October 19, 1956, they sealed their marriage in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Ken and Roberta engaged in many business adventures that took them from Idaho to California to Utah and then back home to Idaho. In the early years, they farmed for Ken's father in Shelley. Opportunity knocked and Roberta, Ken and the three oldest boys: Kurt, Rodney, and Bryan, moved to California. There the family was made complete with the arrival of Jeffery and Julie. The donut business took the family to Utah and farming brought them back home to Idaho.

Roberta was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various church positions including serving a mission with Ken in St. George, Utah.

She loved gardening, quilting, and spending time with her family camping and fishing. Roberta taught her children by example and rewarded hard work. She enjoyed helping others and gave freely of her time; Roberta celebrated life, enjoyed a sweet and humble disposition and is loved by all.

She is survived by the following: husband, Ken Cox of Idaho Falls, sons: Kurt (Connie) Cox of Idaho Falls; Rodney (Nancy) Cox of Mooresville, North Carolina; Bryan (Jana) Cox of Hyde Park, Utah; Jeffery (Shlene) Cox of Idaho Falls; and a daughter, Julie (Mitch) Brian of Idaho Falls; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marsha (Wilkens) Goodrich of Duschane, Utah, and a brother, John (Shirley) Woolf of Idaho Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Iona LDS 7th Ward, 930 N. Crimson Dr. Idaho Falls, with Bishop Drew Smith officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday, July 17, 2009, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls and at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
