Obituary

Roger Alan Danielson, 62, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his home.

He was born January 25, 1957, in Idaho Falls, to Mel and Maxine. He grew up in many places, but Idaho Falls has always been his home.

He received his GED at EITC and an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology. He was proud to be elected the Student Body President during his tenor at EITC.

During his career, he worked many trades.  He was an electrical apprentice for the IBEW, he helped build and pave roads throughout the west and he was a licensed drill-rig operator for INEEL.

He was blessed with a son (Gale) and a daughter (Mindy).  When they were growing up he loved to cook with them.  Especially after he got his wok.  He was "Yan can cook" and the Swedish chef from the muppets, or tried to be.  He was so proud of the adults that they grew up to be and the choices that they made for their lives.  Later he loved spoiling his grandkids.  Taking them to the horse races and teaching them everything that he knew about horses.  Watching them grow, and learn.  Most of the time we couldn't tell who was the bigger kid was.

He always looked forward to the winter because that meant it was time for his famous enchiladas.  These could only be made when it was cold outside because they would warm you up so much on the inside.  Family and friends would start to crave them in August but they had to wait until around November.  They were perfect when they would form a little bead of sweat on your upper lip.

Roger and Teresa were married on June 6, 2009, at the Rigby Fair Grounds. One of many of his favorite days. They had both cold and warm weather activities.  Horse racing was always number one. Flat track racing in the summer and chariot racing in the winter. Horseback riding and camping on the yearly Hard Rock Spring ride. If you couldn't find Roger, check at the barns. You could always find him there.

They spent their summers with annual float trips down the Snake River with great friends. Steaks and volleyball on the 4 th of July. No one left hungry if you did it was your own fault. He was like a kid in a candy store when it came to watching and lighting fireworks.  You always had to be careful and watch your hair or it might get caught on fire.

To quote a good friend: "Roger hunted, fished, and raced horses. He with one leg did more than most people do with two. He had a heart of gold."

He always did for everyone else without asking for anything in return. Rog always had your back.

Roger will be greatly missed by everyone who came into his life.
