Roger Warren Stucki, 83, of Coltman, Idaho, passed away September 22, 2017, at Life Care Center surrounded by his family.
Roger was born June 22, 1934, in Coltman, Idaho to Jacob and Mary (Butikofer) Stucki. He grew up and attended school in Coltman and graduated from Bonneville High School.
He attended Ricks College night classes. He married Donna Lou Bowcutt on November 3, 1954, in Taylor, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Roger worked for McKlasky Ford Tractor, Rt. Romrell Trailer, Brett Manwaring Trailer, ZCMI, and Idaho Falls Care Center as their maintenance man all the time while also farming and milking cows. He always helped those who needed an ear to listen or to help boost them up to keep going.
He was President of the Bonneville County Farm Bureau, President of the Randall Canal Co., on the Board of Directors of the Great Feeder Canal Co., and President of the Burgess Canal Co. at the time of his death. He was also the President of the Grant Central Cemetery. One of his greatest accomplishments was completing the gates on the Great Feeder Canal.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various church callings. His family was everything to him and he played a big part in their lives.
Roger is survived by his wife, Donna (Bowcutt) Stucki, his sons: David (Cindy) Stucki, of Rigby, Gary (Mindy) Stucki, of Idaho Falls, his daughter, Carolyn (Jeff) Bryant, of Idaho Falls, son, Larry (Teresa) Stucki, of Rigby, daughter, Deanna Stucki, of Idaho Falls, daughter, Kellie (Brett) Drake, of Idaho Falls, brother, Conley (Beverley) Stucki, of Idaho Falls, sister, Betty (Jerry) Peterson, of Idaho Falls; 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Mary (Butikofer) and Jacob Stucki; brothers: Ray, Ephraim, Amos, Victor and Oscar; sisters: Amy, Rhoda and Verda; and daughter-in-law, Dene (Douglass) Stucki.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Grant Central Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
