"The bear has left the den, life was good" While on hospice in the arms of his daughter surrounded by family and nurses at 2:18 p.m., on June 11, 2022, at the age of 78.
Bear was born Ronald Hunter Raymond on April 4, 1944, in San Mateo, California to Walter Jordan Raymond Sr and Mary Sara Emily Hunter.
Bear grew up in San Mateo, California with his brother Walter Jordan Raymond Jr and his sister Patricia Ann Loomis.
Bear join the United States Army fresh out of college where he served his country honorably becoming special forces, Green Beret, engineer combat, and learning to speak ambaric language. He received the national defense service medal and parachute badge.
After he left the Army, he then went to work for the Federal Reserve in California before making his move in 1973 to Idaho Falls, Idaho for a job with EG&G, Lockheed Martin, and the INL. He knew right away this place would be his new forever home as he fell in love with Idaho's beautiful country and the community.
He adopted his only child in 1980 his daughter Cassandra Sherry "Terry" and loved being a father.
Bear loved riding motorcycles, helping others, hanging out with friends, and was a 49ers football fanatic. He enjoyed riding horses, dancing, and enjoying life to the fullest. Life was always good!
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jordan Raymond Sr.; his mother, Mary Sara Emily Hunter "Essie"; his brother, Walter Jordan Raymond Jr.; his grandmother, Virginia Fernandez; and his grandfather, John Raymond.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Terry; his two nephews: Gregory and Keith Raymond; his grandchildren: Austin Colby, Jamie Anthony Hunter Campos, Tory Terry, Alexis Waddell, and Athena Sabo; and his great-grandchildren Blakelee Campos, Amara Campos, and Camryn Campos.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Teton Event Center, 3885 Crestwood Lane. For a gathering of friends and family, please dress casually. Cremation was under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
