Ronald Haynes Wise, 69, of Idaho Falls, died September 20, 2009, at Pinebrook Assisted Living Center from a lingering illness. He had been under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born March 23, 1940, in Idaho Falls to Levi William Wise and Edith Blair Wise. He grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls. He later served with the U.S. Marines. On July 11, 1959, he married Kay Deon Gifford in Firth, Idaho. In his younger years, he worked at local service stations doing mechanic work. He was a truck driver for Simplot and then worked for Falls Water and Mobile Home Estates before retiring. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ron enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Our Pop's the top! He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Stoneberg of Idaho Falls; sons: Tony (Janet) Wise and Matt (Devrie) Wise both of Idaho Falls; brothers: Robert (Doris) Wise, Larry (Joyce) Wise, Gene (Betty) Wise and Dennis (Peggy) Wise all of Idaho Falls; a sister, LaDean (Lew) Robbins of Murray, Utah; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deon, who died Oct. 22, 1997; a daughter, Ronna Deon Wise; a son, Heath Haynes Wise; and a sister, Deloris Ralston. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening, September 22, 2009, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the mortuary and Wednesday one hour prior to the services.
