Ronda Kay Birt, 58, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 11, 2011, at Castle Peak Assisted Living Center in Ammon. She was under the care of One Source Hospice. Ronda Kay was born August 18, 1953, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Vern Dee Anderson and Myrna Faye Casper Anderson. Her growing up years were in Texas and Idaho. She earned her cosmetologist license while living in Twin Falls. She also attended Idaho State University for one year. Ronda joined the Army in 1976 where she met Ronald Rebb Birt. They had 5 children before divorcing in 1988. She lived in Minnesota where she completed cooking and sewing school. She became excellent at cooking and as a seamstress. Ronda Kay and her children moved back to Idaho. She began working at Basic American Foods in Shelley where she worked for approximately the next 20 years. She met Troy Cleveland who shared her love and her children. He was always there to help in their needs. Ronda Kay was a devoted mother. She faced many challenges with faith and great strength. She will always be recognized as a selfless, loving and giving person. We love you, Ronda Kay, and we will all miss you. She is survived by the her children: Sabrina Mae Birt, Brandon Jake Birt, Tessa Faye (Melvin) Foster, Loretta Rae (Jack) Rowbury and Sharon Jaye Birt; 5 grandchildren; her mother, Myrna Whittaker and the following siblings: Faylene (Olin) Barkdull, DeVern (Melinda) Anderson and Clifford Jay (Tamela) Anderson. Her father preceded her in death. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and care shown to Ronda by the staff at Castle Peak Assisted Living. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
