IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosella Alice
Ball
May 30, 1941 – August 20, 2017
Rosella Alice Ball passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Rosella was born in 1941, to Gordon and Alice Tuck in Ontario, Oregon and was the oldest of 12 children. She grew up in Ogden, Utah and even after moving out of the area, she held Ogden and the mountains there in her heart throughout her life.
She was an active and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints… but never made that a condition of friendship. She served selflessly throughout her life and was blessed to have many meaningful callings.
She graduated from Ogden High School 1959. She was the first person in her family to earn a high school degree and was proud of her children who all went on to earn college degrees.
Rosella met Lynn Ball, her lifelong sweetheart, in junior high school at the age of 14. She married him in 1959, even though he graduated from her rival Ben Lomand High. Together they moved to Idaho Falls and spent an amazing 58 years together.
Rosella had a successful career in banking. She also had an adventurous spirit, a natural talent for baking, and had the quickest wit of anyone we knew. But her proudest accomplishment was her children, whom she raised to be kind, independent, and fiercely loyal.
She lived for camping, s'mores, and planning the delicious Dutch oven recipes to share with her family. She loved to take her grandkids to the movies and she was always ready to open her home to her family and friends.
Her children learned complete and unconditional love from their mother and they felt the unwavering love and pride she held for each of them.
Rosella is survived by husband: Lynn Ball; her children: LeAnn (Gerald), Carolyn (Holly), Suzanne (John), Joelynne (Michael), Annette (Michael), and Steven (Christine); her 17 grandchildren: Charles, Marianne, Cindi, Jamie, Savannah, Cale, Jake, Dalton, Connor, Kasen, Megan, Lauren, Erin, Brandon, Braxton, Dillon, Chloe; her siblings: Marilyn, Beverley, Sheryl, DeAnna, Rodger, Dale, and Dennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Gordon and Alice and four brothers: Gordon, Larry, Blaine, and Allen.
Rosella always said she had a better life than she ever dreamed of having. And she made our lives all the better. We love you mom. Love you Rosie Posy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, and one hour prior to the services.
