Obituary

Roy L Richins, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Driggs, Idaho, August 24, 1927, to Fred Ray Richins and Barbara Van Vleet.

He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg, West Yellowstone, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls.

He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1945. Shortly, thereafter, joined the Navy, where he served on various ships in the South Pacific, in the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign in World War II and the Korean War. He was a Storekeeper D #C. And served from 1945 to 1954.

When he returned from the service en entered Ricks College in the business field. He worked for the Idaho National Bank and later in procurement at the Idaho Potato growers in Idaho Falls.

Our brother enjoyed football, bowling, skiing, hunting, and fishing. He loved the mountains, especially in the Macks Inn area. He developed the hobby of securing old records of the Big Band Era and recording them on tapes and many of his family and friends have some of these tapes.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his family and friends, especially his good neighbor, Marvin Shurtliff.

He is survived by his sisters: Artell (John) Dalling, Juanita Williams, Bonnie Massingale, and a brother, Earl (Susan) Richins of Dothan, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby sister.

Graveside services will be held at the Driggs Cemetery Friday, September 22, 2006. Military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team will be at 11:00 a.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls.
