Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Roy August Schwabedissen, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 18, 2007. He was born on February 2, 1920 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ricka Krause and Fred William Schwabedissen.

He married his beloved wife, Mildred Smith, on June 4, 1948, and they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 7, 1964. They raised their 4 children in Riverside, Idaho, and taught them the value of education, hard work, and service. Roy loved his family, his country, and especially the state of Idaho.

Roy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully wherever he was asked. He especially enjoyed the 8 years he spent as a temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Force spending time in Africa, India, and flew the "Hump" into China.

Roy was a master teacher and taught for 35 years; most of it in the Snake River School District. He received the "The Outstanding Teacher of the Year" award several times. Roy also farmed 40 acres in the Rose area and worked very hard to support and take care of his family. He loved to travel and was proud to say that he and Mildred had visited every state in the USA. He enjoyed wood working, reading, and most of all spending time with his family.
