Russell Cody Herbst, 44, of Ririe, Idaho, passed away Jan. 25, 2006 in Ririe of heart failure.

He was born Aug. 23, 1961 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Ronald William and Doreen Allphin Herbst. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School in 1979. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, in May 1993.

He married Brenda Hulse. They were later divorced. He married Lynde Johnson April 7, 2002 in Bozeman.

While living in Bozeman, he worked at Radiant Engineering. In 2002, he returned to Ririe and eventually worked as a design drafter at 3D Fire Protection in Idaho Falls.

He was a real handyman and enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing, and working on lawn mowers and other small engines.

Cody was a wonderful son, brother, and husband; his wit and presence will certainly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Matthew Cody Herbst.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at the Ririe LDS Third Ward, 14061 N. 130 E., Ririe. The family will meet with friends an hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary.
