Cecilia Ruth Rutter Call, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at her home of congestive heart disease, surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice. She was born January 21, 1925, the daughter of William Henry Rutter and Eliza Cecilia Dredge Rutter in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated as Valedictorian from Malad High School in 1943 and then worked her way through school while attending the University of Utah where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandizing. On August 15, 1947, she married Max Lee Call in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ruth was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as President of the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. She and her husband were missionaries in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission and worked in the Idaho Falls temple for 15 years. She was a member of the Republican Women and the Parent-Teacher Association. She and Max could often be seen walking around town at the tracks, to the Post Office or the bank. Keeping healthy was very important to them. Ruth enjoyed playing the piano and memorizing Shakespeare and poetry. Her family, friends, and the gospel meant everything to her. She lived her life's motto which was, "Focus on Christ and everything else will fall into place". She is survived by the following: Husband, Max L. Call of Idaho Falls; daughters: Deborah R. Schaefer of Idaho Falls; Cathryn L. (Darrell) Andelin of South Jordan, Utah; Teresa L. (David) Crapo of Bountiful, Utah; Laurel A. Wood of Caldwell, Idaho; and Patricia S. (Patrick) Duffin of Ammon, Idaho; sons: Bruce R. (Mary Lee) Call of Tucson, Arizona, and Steven M. (Jill) Call of Boise, Idaho; brothers: William J. Rutter of San Francisco, California, and J. James (Gayle) Rutter of Pleasant Grove, Utah; sisters: Helen Gygi of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Karen R. (Nick) Randall of Queen Creek, Arizona; 31 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. January 25, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Stake Center, 1155 First St., Idaho Falls.
