Ruth Virginia Rollene, 90, of Idaho Falls, and formerly of Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at her residence at Lincoln Court. She had been under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born March 22, 1920, in Jewell, Iowa, to Edgar Ward and Bessie Grandy Ward. She grew up in Jewell and Dows, Iowa. In 1941, she married Dale Orville Rollene in Dows, Iowa. Ruth and Dale farmed north of Dows until 1968, when they moved to Iowa Falls, Iowa. Ruth worked at Ellsworth Municiple Hospital as a nurse's aid for 18 years. She eventually moved to Idaho Falls to be near her son. While living in Iowa Falls, she was a member of the First Methodist Church. Her hobbies included ceramic painting. She is survived by the following: son, Roger (Marie) Rollene of Idaho Falls; daughter, Virginia (Richard) Cheyne of Wellington, New Zealand; sisters: Norma Lake of Webster City, Iowa; Freda (Dick) Hutzel of Marshalltown, Iowa; Joan Pomeroy of Iowa Falls, and Shirley (Ike) Hansen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Local arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
