Ruth Rigby Stallings, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Fairwinds-Sandcreek.
Ruth was born on September 11, 1930, in Sugar City, Idaho to Alvin B Rigby and Florence Arema Jacobs Rigby. She grew up in Hibbard, Idaho and graduated from Madison High School in 1948.
On October 10, 1949, she married Jerrold Willis Stallings in the Salt Lake City Temple. To this union, 5 children were born.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions including MIA teacher, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and as a member of the Relief Society Presidency.
As a young mother, she was able to stay home with her children. After her children were raised she worked for Bonneville School District as a librarian and administrative assistant.
Ruth enjoyed sewing, reading, and crocheting afghans for friends and family. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children: Jay (Diane) Stallings of Worland, WY, Stan (Peggy) Stallings of N. Ogden, UT, Ben (Gail) Stallings of Idaho Falls, ID, Meralee Stallings of Murray, UT, and Rod (Stacey) Stallings of West Valley City, UT; 18 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrold Stallings; her parents; her brother, Leo Rigby; a granddaughter, Rachel Ann; and a great-granddaughter, Reyla Rose.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Ammon 2 nd Ward, 1100 Tiebreaker. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, and one hour prior to services both at the church. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
