Ruth Marie Walker, 72, of Idaho Falls, beloved wife and mother, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born May 8, 1941, in Santa Rosa, California, to George W. and Esther Halverson Hartman. Ruth grew up in Santa Rosa and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. She worked as a professional legal secretary for 35 years. On May 25, 1974, she married Max V. Walker in Newport News, Virginia. Ruth was a Christian and loved to work in her yard and garden, going to yard sales, going out to eat, spending time at their ranch in Montana, huckleberry picking, visiting friends and traveling with her beloved Westie, "Idaho Joe". Ruth was very proud of her family and is survived by the following: Husband of 39 years, Max Walker of Idaho Falls; a son, Clint Walker, and his wife Leigh, of Enterprise, Alabama; a daughter, Tami Lynn Walker of Newport News, Virginia; Mother, Esther Hartman of Canisteo, New York; a sister, Carol Pendergrast of Wilmington, North Carolina; and a brother, Daniel Hartman, and his wife Janey, of Canisteo, New York. She was preceded in death by her father. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
