Ruth Ann Davis Wixom, age 68, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away October 24, 2014. Ruth was born March 12, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho, to David Mahlon Davis and LaVon Reddish Davis. She grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Idaho State University in 1968. Ruth taught English and government at Soda Springs and Pocatello High Schools. Ruth married Jerry Wixom in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 3, 1970. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1972 and have resided there since then. Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and sought to bless the lives of others as she taught in Primary, performed compassionate service and fulfilled other callings. She was a soccer mom and attended all the activities that her children participated in. Ruth was proud of her children and their accomplishments. She supported her husband in all he did in the community, in his profession, in scouting, and his church assignments. Ruth enjoyed traveling and visiting her sister, Shirley. She especially enjoyed the excitement and fun of southern California and Disneyland. Ruth is survived by her husband, Jerry, and children: Brian (Valeire), Sara (Ralph), Brooke (Wayne), Justin (Billie), Amber (Chad), 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother. Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sage Lakes Ward, 3370 North 5th West, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
