Sabas Flores III, 41, beloved husband, father, brother and friend passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015. Sabas was born Jan. 4, 1974 to Sabas and Linda Flores in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1992. He went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salta, Argentina Mission from 1994 to 1996. While in Argentina, he met Roxana Reynoso, who he married Jan. 3, 1997 and was sealed to Jan. 7, 1997 in the Buenos Aires Temple. Together they had three children: Isaac, Maria and Naomi. They were divorced in 2013, and Sabas married his beautiful wife, April Griffiths, Jan. 15, 2014. Sabas worked construction with his uncle, David Flores, for a summer when he returned from his mission, followed by a job at AMI. On May 21, 2001, Sabas was hired by the Idaho Falls Police Department. He graduated from the Police Academy on Aug. 27, 2001 session 131. Sabas was also a member of the Idaho Falls S.W.A.T team and trained in negotiation. He loved being a police officer and had compared his work as an officer to his time as a missionary - "you get to serve your fellow man." Sabas is survived by his parents; wife, April; her children, Caleb Shae Tingey and Leanora Tingey; his son, Isaac Sabas Reynoso Flores; daughters, Maria Angenette Reynoso Flores and Naomi Lucero Reynoso Flores; sisters, Jodi (Nathan) Rhodes, and Patricia (Brad) Staples; six nieces and nephews, Christopher Matthew Carlson, Natalie Ann Rhodes, Ishmael Kain Staples, Alejandra Isabela Staples, Emily Louis Rhodes and Aryana Gloria Staples; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and people who loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gabriel Flores; his grandfather, Andrew Waddoups; grandmother, Naoma Waddoups; and a cousin, Juan Flores. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Lincoln LDS Stake Center, 2545 Mesa, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and Monday morning at the church one hour prior to the services. Full Police Honors will be performed at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho. Following the internment a luncheon will be held in Pocatello for family and close friends.
