Senovio Vega, 48, of Ucon, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, with his family by his side, at the University of Utah Medical Center from complications related to a bone marrow transplant as a treatment for Leukemia. He was born October 31, 1961, in Zimapan, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Estevan Vega and Concepcion Vega. As a teen, he migrated to the United States and obtained his U.S. citizenship. On September 15, 1988, he married Guadalupe "Lupe" Nevarez in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Senovio worked for Howard Taylor and Sons, Jensen Brothers, and others. For more than twenty years, Senovio has worked for Stan and Linn Hawkins in Ucon, as a valued employee in all aspects of their agribusinesses. Senovio and his family are considered family to everyone in the Hawkins family. He was an inspiration to all of his siblings and made their life easier by the guidance and support he provided to them. He loved his large family and was always ready to help any of them. His neighbors appreciated his kind actions. Anyone who knew Senovio knew of his desire to help and improve the lives of others. He set a high standard for himself and helped others do the same for themselves. Senovio has expected and helped his sons to excel in high school and both sons are currently working on their college degrees. Senovio loved being outdoors. He was an accomplished elk hunter and took trophies to prove his skill. Senovio is survived by his wife, Guadalupe, and 2 sons, Ramon and Joel Vega all of Ucon; two daughters: Benita and Renae Vega, from a previous marriage; his parents, Estevan and Concepcion Vega; siblings: Maura Vega, Romana (Leonel) Hernandez, Francisca (Gregorio) Vega Chavez , Juventino (Alicia) Vega, Pablo (Evelia) Vega, Justa (Catarino) Vega, Clara (Fermin) Vega, Marcial (Maria) Vega, Vernarda (Joel) Vega, and Presvitero Vega. A Christian service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary. A Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 all at the mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the corner of 9th St. & Lee. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
