Shawna Jean Lewis, 46, of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at home from a long-term struggle with Lupus.
Shawna was born on June 21, 1971, at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, to Richard and Terry Phillips. The family moved to Idaho Falls in 1973 where she spent a happy childhood attending school at the Old New Sweden School then on to Westside Elementary. She excelled in drama class at Eagle Rock Jr. High School. Shawna graduated from Skyline High School in 1989. With her love of drama, she was able to travel to Missoula, Montana where she achieved a major character role in an ongoing play. In 1988 her drama class traveled to New York. Studying at Skyline one of her most enjoyable classes was working with special needs children. She loved to sing and had a lovely voice.
Later with her kids and family she enjoyed camping and fishing. She spent a lot of time with her grandson, Cash. Home and family was important to her.
Shawna had a special ability relating with senior citizens through her work with her father in the Phillips Hearing Aid Center located in Idaho Falls. She worked 14 years in this business intending to take over the business, but Lupus became a fatal disability and she was no longer able to work.
On April 21, 1990 she married David McMurtrey in Idaho Falls. To this union two children were born: Nicholas Blair and Acacia Elaine. They were later divorced. On July 20, 1996, she married David Ball. They were later divorced. On August 21, 2006, she married Blair Lewis. Shawna and Blair have been married 12 years and have made their home on the Westside of Idaho Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Blair Lewis; her son, Nicholas Blaine McMurtry; her daughter, Acacia Elaine Phillips; her parents: Richard and Terrie Phillips; her brother, Chad Phillips; her step-daughters: McKena Lewis and Kylie Carver; her grandsons: Jaxton, Cash, Lukas, Landyn; and granddaughter, Lachlan.
Shawna filled her 46 years with an abundant joy and an endearing love of others. She is a child of God's family believing Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She will be greatly missed by Family and Friends.
