Sonja Marie (Walker) Weaver, 77, passed away at Morningstar Assisted Living Facility, July 25, 2015, after a brief illness. She was the only child born to Charlotte (Beyer) and Alfred Walker on May 31, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Idaho Falls High school and Ricks College, where she studied nursing. Sonja became a Registered Nurse when she passed both state and national boards giving her the ability to practice nursing nationwide. In 1960, she married Charles Roy Weaver of Joplin, Missouri, in Idaho Falls, and they had one daughter, Lisa Marie Weaver. Sonja lived in Idaho Falls most of her life, where she worked part time and was a homemaker. Sonja believed in the importance of giving back to the community and she frequently volunteered her services as a nurse during blood and immunization drives. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa, son-in-law Michael Boerner, and granddaughter, Corinne Marie Weaver Boerner, all of O'Fallon, Missouri. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
