Obituary

Steven Alan Fender, 75, of Ashton, Idaho passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his home. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Steve was born on September 24, 1949, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Gordon Fender and Bette Joyce Cheadle Fender. He grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and San Diego, California. He attended schools at Princess Anne, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, California, and graduated in 1968.

On April 10, 1987, he married Becky Marie White in Poway, California. They have previously lived in Meridian, Idaho, and Southern California, where he worked as a general contractor specializing in drywall.

In his adult life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and as a young man, he loved surfing Virginia Beach and the beaches of Southern California.

We are saddened by the passing of Steve, a devoted husband, father, and brother. He was one of six children, he was a loving husband to Becky for 37 years, and a caring presence to his entire family. His unwavering faith in Jesus and his love for those around him were constants in his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Becky Fender of Ashton, Idaho; his son, Michael (Miyuki) of Yokosuka, Japan; his daughters: Regan Fender of Castaic, California, and Jamie Kuhn of Emmett, Idaho; his sister, Lesley (Michael) Likins of Highland, California; his brothers: Ronald (Roberta) Fender of Poway, California, David Fender of The Villages, Florida, Richard (Laura) Fender of Lady Lake, Florida, and Geoffrey (Kelli) Fender of Temecula, California; seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Matthew Fender.

No services will be held at this time. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
