Steven Reginald Tryk, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
He was born Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in Torrance, California, graduating form North Torrance High School in 1962.
He served in the United States Navy from 1963-1965. He was crew member on the USS Topeka (CLG-8).
He lived in California, Texas and Idaho.
He enjoyed eating out at the local diner and telling stories. He was proud of volunteering to help with the 9/11 cleanup.
He loved shooting, swimming, snorkeling, gold panning, playing harmonica, motorcycles and horses.
Steve was a charismatic ball of fire. He loved trying new things and making people laugh.
Steven is survived by:
son, Gary
daughters, Melanie, Stacie and Kellie
sisters, Nikki and Cheryl
brothers, Loftes and Matt
6 grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his mother, Virigina; father, Loftes (Dusty) Payne; and sister, Sandra Dawn.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the shelter of the LDS Church, 1165 Azalea Drive, Idaho Falls. Military rites will be performed around 3:30 pm. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
