Susanna Wilkey Leavitt, 78, of Idaho Falls, died September 18, 2009, in St. George. She had been under the care of Zion's Way Hospice. She was born April 26, 1931, in Nephi, Utah, to John Henry Wilkey and Elizabeth Kendall Wilkey. She grew up and attended school in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. She attended Snow College. On November 19, 1955, she married Darrell Leavitt in Nephi, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings throughout her lifetime. She worked in the Republican Party. From a very young age, she enjoyed singing and was a member of the Chansonettes Choral group for many years. She enjoyed traveling, helping the less fortunate, Journaling, doing crafts, being surrounded by her family, and gardening; she shared her produce with all who wanted or needed it. Susanna lived her life the way we hope we should live ours. She is survived by her son, DelLynn (Elida) Leavitt of Idaho Falls; daughters: Teresa (Rob) Bishop of Idaho Falls and Debra (Bryan) Webb of Fulton, Missouri; sister-in-laws: Elaine (Ray) Henken of Idaho Falls; Jeanie Wilkey of St. George, UT; Muriel Wilkey of Magna, UT; and Naomi Sessions of Salt Lake City; brother-in-law, Howard Leavitt of Idaho Falls; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, who passed away on Oct. 30, 2006, brothers: Jack, Eugene, Merle, and Bob; a sister, May; her parents; a sister-in-law, Andrea Leavitt; and a brother-in-law, Wilbur Baxter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive with Bishop Kevin Hathaway officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
