Tammie Sue Gazda, 39, of Idaho Falls and formerly of Boise, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello of a prolonged illness. She was born July 30, 1971, on the military base at Ft. Worth, Texas, to Calvin Gene Brandt and Sandy Bonham Brandt. She spent most of her growing up years in Mountain Home, Idaho. She graduated from Borah High School in 1989 and continued her education at Boise State University. On April 19, 1997, she married Brian Gazda at Mountain Home Air Force Base. They moved to Abilene, Texas, where they lived for 9 years before moving to Idaho Falls. She was an active member of the Journey Church. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, reading, and listening to music. Tammie loved people and especially enjoyed meeting new people. Tammie is survived by the following: husband, Brian Gazda of Idaho Falls; step-daughter, Megan Gazda of Pocatello; parents, Gene and Sandy Brandt of Kuna; sister, Jessica Brandt of Kuna; and nephews: Sean Cavanaugh, Matthew and David Schneider of Farmington, New York; and Steven Brandt of Kuna. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Journey Church, 505 North Park, Shelley, Idaho, with Pastor Roger Manwiller officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Journey Church Building Fund, 235 Pevero Dr., Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
