IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ted
Cutler
September 16, 1953 – January 14, 2017
Ted (William Theadore) Cutler came into the world on September 16, 1953. A handsome and energetic individual, he was born and raised in Shelley, Idaho to Patricia and Gerald Cutler.
In the spring of 1970, Ted met a beautiful young lady named Lois Blaylock. He was 16 at the time, and she was 14. They dated off and on for 7 years before marrying on August 3, 1977 in Idaho Falls. After five years their family began to grow, and along came Katherine, Christopher, and Justin. On May 29, 1998 Ted and Lois were sealed to their children in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS temple, for time and eternity.
Ted died peacefully at home in his sleep on January 14, 2017. He served in the Idaho National Guard Reserve for 9 years. He was an excellent cook, and worked at multiple restaurants. He eventually made his career in sales, for which he had a natural ability. He used his charisma and energy to influence and rally those around him throughout his life.
Ted loved giving, serving, and creating memorable experiences for people. He put hours of work and care into planning activities, and providing for people's comfort and enjoyment. He had his own unique and memorable way of communicating often called "Ted-isms." He loved "playing in the dirt" (gardening), and would often comment, "That is some good lookin' dirt." He was always looking for better ways to do things, and had a knack for unique solutions. He spent large parts of his life focusing on emergency preparedness, even dedicating the boys' bedroom to the endeavor. Many have been invited on an impromptu tour of the "food room," often leaving with the response, "well, I know where to go when things get bad."
He was and is loved by those he left behind. Ted lived, loved, and served to the best of his ability, even when he struggled with pain and disability. His life is a testament of the powerful changes love can bring about in an individual's life and actions.
Ted is survived by his wife Lois Cutler, daughter Katherine (Chad) Jensen of Rigby, ID, and sons Chris (Bita) Cutler of Ammon, ID, and Justin (Cassara) Cutler of Webberville, MI, and brothers Alan Cutler of Kelso, WA, and Mike Cutler of Shelley, ID, and 8 grandkids, and was extremely excited for two on the way. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Patricia.
