He was born June 13, 1939, in Fromberg, Montana, to Allen Merle Arrington and Elsie Louise Talbot Arrington.  He grew up in the Butte-Drummond area of Montana. Terry graduated from high school in 1957 in Drummond.

He attended the US Armed Forces Institute where he received training in electronics. He took many additional classes in the Navy and later at Idaho State University .

Terry served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1970. He was a Chief Petty Officer at the time of his discharge.

On July 14, 1979, he married Phyllis Woodyard in Idaho Falls.

Terry worked at the Dynamatics Lab from 1970-74; Morris Knutson from 1974-1977; and the Idaho National Lab for EG&G from 1977 until his retirement in 1995.

Following his retirement, Terry drove commercial trucks for a short time before forming Laznco Sprinkler Company. Terry also worked for Colog of Denver for several years.

Terry was a volunteer at the Idaho Falls Food Bank and as of April, 2014, he had volunteered for 5315 hours.

He held a private commercial pilot's license. He enjoyed car racing, sailing, fishing, camping, woodworking, and traveling both domestically and internationally.

He was a man of the highest principle and could do anything he set his mind to. "A thing worth doing should be done as perfectly as one is capable."

Terry is survived by his wife, Phyllis Arrington of Shelley; sons: Gerald (Karen) Arrington of Sebastopol, California; Michael (Tricia) Arrington of Ballston Lake, New York; a step-son, Jim (Jennifer) Williams of Golden, Colorado, a step-daughter, Shelley (John) Myers of Little Rock, Arkansas,  a step-daughter, Lacey (Bill) Pedler of Golden, Colorado; and 8 grandchildren.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, a brother, Loren Dean Arrington.

Memorial services will be held June 7, 2016 at 4 p.m. at the Arrington home in Shelley.  Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
