He was born November 23, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois to Fred and Alberta Fessett Wirth. He attended schools in Lemont, Illinois and graduated from Lemont Township High School.
Tom served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. He earned the National Defense Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Purple Heart. He was the Past Commander of VFW Post 5819 in Lemont, IL.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Tom married Donna J. Greenwood on August 30, 1974 in Joliet, IL.
He worked at Commonwealth Edison, and moved to Idaho in 1975. He worked for the City of Idaho Falls as an electrical lineman. Tom was also a member of the IBEW.
Tom's enjoyed classic cars and he loved to read.
Tom is survived by his wife Donna, of Idaho Falls; Daughters, Julie Lynn Wirth, and Elise Angela Wirth Brower; 2 brothers, his twin Timothy F. Wirth (Myrna) and Jim Wirth; and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
