Obituary

Timothy Eugene Comstock, 77, of Tetonia, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Ashton Living Center. He was under the care of Enhabit Hospice.

Timothy was born on October 27, 1946, in Billings, Montana to Irving "Chet" Comstock and Anita Louise Harolside Comstock. He grew up in Cody, Wyoming, and graduated from Cody High School in 1965.

After high school, he joined the United States Navy. He was a Master of Arms and worked in the submarine service. He earned multiple marksmanship medals.

He married Peggy Soll, they were later divorced. He married Patty A. Beaver, and they later divorced. From these unions 3 children were born, Anita Marie, Michael, and Dana.

He was a senior ski patrolman with the National Ski Patrol System in the early '70s at Grand Targhee. He built his home in Tetonia with the help of many friends. Everything from harvesting the trees, stacking the log cabin, laying the stone foundation, and creating the unique piece of art that has become his home. He spent 2 seasons as a carpenter at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. He built and carved many custom doors and cabinetry that can be found throughout Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. After an injury that ended his carpentry career, he became a Spalding and Rogers Certified tattoo artist, completing his apprenticeship in Billings, Montana, and opening his own shop, Extreme Tattoo, in Driggs, Idaho.

After retirement, he surrounded himself with his family, friends, and the animals he cared for.

He is survived by his daughter, Anita Marie Comstock (Mathew) Groat of Tetonia, Idaho; his sons, Michael Comstock and Dana Comstock both of California; his sister, Michele (Mike) Hemry of Cody, Wyoming; 1 grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anita Louise and Irving "Chet" Comstock; and his brother, Patrick Comstock.

A celebration of life BBQ will be held at 1:00 p.m., August 25, 2024, at 'The House'. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
