Tommy was born Nov. 3, 1940 in Burley, Idaho to Warren F. and LaVaun Gooch. He lived in Burley and attended schools there until he was in the 5th grade when the family moved to Baker Idaho where he attended school until High School. Tommy graduated from Salmon High school in 1959.
After High School Tommy worked on the Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah, and the Yellowtail Dam in Montana. He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Range Management. He was a member of the Idaho National Guard.
Tommy married Billie M. Jones on August 30, 1963 in Salmon, Idaho and they had three children. He worked for the BLM in Idaho, Nevada, and Montana. He retired in Idaho Falls in 2000. He played at Cowboying until getting ill.
Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Billie M. Jones of Rigby; his son, Jeffery W. Gooch (Vickie) of Meridian Idaho; his daughters, Kristi K. Ramsey (Robert) of Iona, Idaho, and Stacey Lynn Moorman (Daryn) of Mackey, Idaho; his mother, LaVaun Banner Gooch of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Bonnie Gooch Parks (Tom) of Las Vegas NV, and Jeanette Gooch Fillis of Seattle, WA; and by 7 grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls with Gene Baumert as worship leader. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Youth Ranch 7025 Emerald St. Boise, ID 83704. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
