She was born March 8, 1930, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Doyle W. Dutson and Lois Virgin Dutson. She grew up and attended school in Logan, Utah, and Roberts, Idaho. She graduated from Roberts High School in 1948. She was designated the 1st Snow Queen for the town of Roberts.
She married Claren P. Holm and to this union were born 4 children. They later divorced. She has lived in various places including Anchorage, Alaska; Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and Logan, Utah. She worked for several different occupations including modeling, teaching charm school, banking, secretarial, and as a receptionist for several companies.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Relief Society President, as a ward librarian, and a teacher in several of the auxiliaries.
She loved traveling, reading, and visiting. She had beautiful penmanship and didn't miss an opportunity to send a card or note to her family and friends. Her life was spent in loving servitude to her children and grandchildren of which we will always be grateful. Our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was a compassionate, service oriented, gracious lady who enjoyed many friendships and she will be greatly missed..
She is survived by the following: son, Corey D. (Tara) Holm of Kaysville, Utah; son, Layne C. (Helena) Holm of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Valja RaKell (Scott) Worton of Idaho Falls; daughter, Eden Holm of Idaho Falls; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, LaThair (June) Dutson of Rogue River, Oregon; brother, Kent (Sara) Dutson of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Gaylen Dutson of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Brent (Reena) Dutson of Long View, Washington; sister, Zayle (Bob) Magnusson of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Lynne Clay of Layton, Utah; and a sister, Pat (Rob) Wilde of Emmett, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gary Dutson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, at the Ammon 16th Ward Chapel, 4459 E. John Adams Parkway, Idaho Falls with Bishop Scott Noble officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and Saturday at the church one hour prior to the services.
