Venita May Peterson passed away on August 2, 2020, surrounded by her family. Venita was born on August 28, 1944, to Ira and Dorothy Judy of Idaho Falls. Venita spent her childhood growing up in Ammon and the Ozone area, helping with the family's dry farm. Venita is one of six children, she has four brothers and one sister. She graduated from Bonneville High School prior to obtaining her Nursing Degree from Ricks College. Venita had a passion for taking care of others. Her nursing career lasted for 40 plus years. She retired at the age of 67 from EIRMC.
One of Venita's greatest joys in life was her family. She was blessed with two daughters: Erika and Carrie; and one son, Sean. Venita had many talents among those were crocheting, sewing, quilting blankets for her grandchildren, and playing the piano. Some of her favorite past times were trying new recipes and reading a good book. She practiced daily scripture study and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She absolutely loved the peace she felt when she went to the temple.
She is survived by her loving sister, Susann (Kim) Kohler of Shelley, ID; brother, Kent (Karen) Judy of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters: Erika (Mark) Barney of West Jordan, UT, and Carrie (George) Allen of Herriman, UT; son, Sean (Ginger) Peterson of Ammon, ID; 10 grandchildren: Hayden (Madeline) Leifson, Lindee (Kyle) Jenks, Reilly Kirton, Delaney Kirton, Madison Luckey, Makaelee Allen, Kaulin Allen, Charli Allen, Max Peterson, and Alex Peterson; 1 great-grandchild, Raylee Jenks
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Ira and Dorothy Judy; and brothers: Richard, Raymond, and Dwain Judy.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Ammon Cemetery, 5226 East Sunnyside Road, Ammon, Idaho with Bishop Turner officiating.
The family will visit with friends and loved ones from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 7 th at Coltrin Mortuary 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho and from 9:30-10:30 Saturday morning also at Coltrin Mortuary.

It will be hot on the day of the funeral, we suggest that you bring either an umbrella or a camp chair for your comfort.
