She was born November 1, 1922, in Victor, Idaho, to George S. Woolstenhulme and Vanna Vera Cover Woolstenhulme. She grew up in Teton Valley and graduated from Victor High School in 1941. She moved to the Silver Valley in Northern Idaho in 1951.
On June 14, 1941, she married Lorin D. Foster in Victor. Besides being a homemaker, she was a hostess and sales clerk at the Northern Pacific Railroad Depot Museum in Wallace for several years and for 18 years she had worked for HECLA Mining Company.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts. Vera had a tremendous love for her family.
She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Geneva Matkin, Teanie Fuell, George (Lola) Woolstenhulme, William (Bill) Woolstenhulme, Mary Walker, Verda (Warren) Stuart and Elmo (Karla) Woolstenhulme; 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, John Duffy and a daughter-in-law, Deana Foster.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin; a daughter, Sharon Duffy; a son, Brent Foster; a brother, Douglas Woolstenhulme and a sister, Dollie Landess
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Ammon LDS Stake Center, 2055 S. Ammon Road with Bishop Allen Lundeen officiating. Inurnment and additional services will be in Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Pinehurst (near Wallace), Idaho, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Aspen Home Health and Hospice, 3470 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls, 83404.
