Obituary

Verlyn W. Croft, 80, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Friday, March 18, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 2, 1930, in Shelley, Idaho, to Samuel Edward Croft and Rosalind Allen Croft. He grew up in Shelley and attended Shelley High School. He went through an electrical and carpenter's apprenticeship program. In 1950, he married Margaret Robinson in Dillon, Montana. He had a small appliance repair shop, building trades, and worked for the City of Idaho Falls Street Department. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Christian and a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Carpenter's Union. In the past, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, hiking, and most recently spent the winters in Arizona. He is survived by the following: wife, Margaret "Maggie" Croft of Idaho Falls; daughters: Peggy (Paul) Casper of Eugene, Oregon and Denice (Tim) Butler of Knoxville, Tennessee; sons: Wayne (Gail) Croft of Boise, Idaho; Blaine (Patty) Croft of Parumph, Nevada; and Mark (Cathy) Croft of Pocatello; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by all of his siblings; sisters: Lula Lunquist and Ada Swift; brothers: James, Lewis, Roy, Lyle, and Marion. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. March 25, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. A Celebration of Life and a luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Idaho Falls Senior Citizens Center, 535 W. 21st St..
